Hamiworth Enterprises
Leadership Model

Experience at the top. Accountability all the way down.

Hamiworth is led by people who have built and run businesses in the markets the firm invests in. The Board is chaired independently; the executive team, chaired by the Founder, answers to it.

01How Hamiworth Is Led

Four layers, one line of accountability.

Each layer has a distinct contribution: the Board sets standards, advisers and shareholder representatives inform them, the executive delivers against them, and platform leadership executes in market.

01

Board of Directors

Independently chaired

Hamiworth is appointing an industry-respected chair from outside the executive to lead the Board. The Board carries strategy, jurisdictional expansion and the standards the firm is measured against.

02

Advisers & Shareholder Representatives

Counsel and ownership voice

Senior advisers bring sector and market depth to the Board's work; shareholder representatives carry the owners' perspective into strategy and capital decisions.

03

Executive Team

Chaired by the Founder

Abshir Hassan chairs the executive team, which is answerable to the Board. The executive originates, underwrites, deploys and reports — with named accountability on every mandate.

04

Platform Leadership

Delivery on the ground

Chief executives of the operating platforms deliver against financed programmes and report into the executive on milestones, performance and risk.

Abshir Hassan

Founder of Hamiworth Enterprises, Managing Director and General Partner of Fund I, and chair of the executive team. He has built and led multinational operating businesses — including Ubuntu Africa Group and Visal International — across trade, logistics and financial infrastructure.

His conviction is straightforward: Africa's growth will be financed by people who understand how the businesses actually run. That is the standard he holds the executive team to, and the reason the Board is being chaired from outside it.

02Capacity & Experience

What the team brings to a mandate: operating history in the sectors we finance, relationships in the markets we enter, and the discipline institutional capital expects.

01

Built, not just backed

The bench has founded and run operating businesses across trade, logistics and financial infrastructure — the same disciplines the fund underwrites.

02

Cross-border fluency

Working experience across Mauritius, Türkiye, the Gulf and African markets, with the counterparty relationships that make transactions close.

03

Institutional craft

Underwriting standards, committee discipline and reporting cadence built to the expectations of institutional limited partners.

04

Ambition for returns

The team is assembled to pursue alpha in markets it knows first-hand, and to hold assets long enough for value creation to show in the numbers.

03Culture

People who care about the work.

The team is small, senior and genuinely invested in what it is building. We have delivered sizeable projects together, we intend to go further, and we hold ourselves to the returns and the standards we would expect as investors ourselves.
